Antique Georgian Burled Walnut Chest. Circa 1800.
The chest top has a tightly figured burled walnut molded edge with four centered book-matched burled panels accented by string inlay of satinwood and ebony, then a 1 ¾” outside banding of straight grain walnut. The chest has two over two drawers that have complementary veneering on the fronts. It has the original locks, with the pulls and escutcheons added later. It has a cornice molded bottom edge and rests on ogee bracket legs.
